Our History
Broadmeadow CNS opened its doors in September 2020 for Junior Infants due to the high level of new population and housing within the Swords area. We will take a new intake of Junior Infants each year until we have a full cycle from Junior Infants- 6th Class.
The school comes under the Patronage of the Minister for Education and Skills. Our Patron in waiting is Dublin & Dún Laoghaire Education and Training Board. The rationale behind the establishment of the Community National Schools and this new form of Patronage is to reflect the changing shape of Irish society. This new model of school Patronage ensures that each member of the school community is treated with dignity and respect and that all religious beliefs, values and cultures are recognised and celebrated.
Broadmeadow Community National School will:
*Be open to children of all faiths and none.
*Be inter-denominational in character.
*Operate through an ethos of inclusiveness and respect for all beliefs, both religious and non-religious.
*Operate in accordance with the rules for primary schools as set out by the Department of Education and Skills.
We will start our journey in our temporary location within Swords Community College.
