Extra Curricular

Swimming

We are delighted to say that from 2nd class up, all of our children are provided with the opportunity to partake in Swimming lessons within the local community.

Music with Ava (Senior Infants – 4th Class)

Every week, Ava brings music to life through fun and creative music generation sessions. Children explore rhythm, melody, and sound in an engaging way that inspires confidence and a lifelong love of music.

Basketball

Our school boasts a full-sized basketball court and several smaller nets to encourage all levels of play. We foster teamwork, fitness, and fun both during and after school hours. We’re proud to link with Swords Basketball Club, giving pupils even more opportunities to develop their skills and passion for the sport.

Chess Club (1st – 4th Class)

Led by Johnathan, our Chess Club helps children sharpen their problem-solving, critical thinking, and strategic planning skills — all while having fun! Chess encourages patience and focus, and our pupils love the challenge each session brings.

Dance Club

Our Dance Club, led by Linda, runs throughout the year for all classes. Linda brings her passion and expertise in all dance styles to every session, creating a joyful space for creativity and expression. Her own experience in performances and shows inspires our students to move with confidence and enthusiasm.

GAA – The Heart of Our School

GAA is at the heart of our school and community. Through coaching delivered by Michelle from Colmcilles, children develop their skills in Gaelic football, teamwork, and sportsmanship. GAA connects our pupils with local tradition and builds pride in our community spirit.

Tin Wistle

Our Tin Whistle lessons introduce pupils to the joy of traditional Irish music from 1st class. Through fun, hands-on learning, children develop musical skills, rhythm, and confidence while celebrating an important part of our cultural heritage. The tin whistle helps foster teamwork, listening, and a love for Irish traditions that carry through the school community.

Gardening & Our Nurture Garden

Our school is proud to have a beautiful, community- and school-funded Nurture Garden where pupils learn the joy of growing and caring for nature. Gardening encourages responsibility, patience, and teamwork as children plant, water, and watch their work come to life. The garden provides a calm, hands-on learning space that connects our students to the environment and our wider community.
